Condemned-worthy: mold, peeling paint, rats, insects, a broken elevator, four flights of stairs. Anora’s is a third-floor studio (she also descends “four flights” — CONFLICT, see §10): one room, sagging mattress, kitchenette, chests along the walls, closed windows letting in freezing drafts, three door locks, stacked paintings.
